Oscar Wilde was born in Dublin on October 16th 1854. He wrote The Picture of Dorian Gray, Teleny or The Reverse of the Medal, The Soul Of Man and The Importance of Being Earnest, among other things. He won Somerset Maugham Award. Wilde studied at Portora Royal School, Trinity College, Dublin and Magdalen College. He was married to Constance Lloyd. He was the father of Cyril and Vyvyan. He had occupations including writer, journalist and poet. He died in Paris in November 1900 aged 46 years and 1 month old. His death was a result of meningitis.
